Healthy Living Through Essential Oils

There’s no doubt about it – we live in a toxic world. Our bodies have incredible detoxification abilities, but it’s safe to say our environments are vastly more toxic than they were even 150 years ago. Our filtering organs and systems are struggling to keep up. We live in an age of pesticides, chemical spills in our water sources, diesel fumes, and high levels of stress. It might seem as if there is little you can do to protect yourself and your family, but there are several ways you can support your body’s natural detoxification processes and live a healthier life.
Hippocrates, the Greek physician and Father of Medicine said, “All disease begins in the gut.” What does that mean, exactly? Toxic buildup from heavy metals, chemicals, and food additives can settle in our tissue and overload our filtering organs, while overuse of antibiotics can wreak havoc with our digestion and effect how we absorb nutrients, and even influence our mood! A gut cleanse is a great way to hit a reset button and begin to bring your systems back into balance. Combine that with probiotics and a gentle detox that will bind and flush heavy metals and you’ve got a powerful tool to take control of your health and wellness.
It’s not surprising, then, that an unbalanced gut can also cause raging inflammation in the body, throwing both our physical and mental health further into a tailspin. Inflammation is a major culprit that some doctors feel is behind a host of chronic health conditions. Stress can be a major contributor to inflammation in the body, and inflammation in turn puts undue stress on the body – it’s a vicious cycle that makes you a prisoner. But we can break that cycle! Some of my favorite methods are clean eating (no processed foods), replacing negative thoughts and words with positive ones (the mind-body connection is strong), getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a day (walking counts!), and using essential oils and supplements to assist my body in regulating it’s inflammatory responses.
I’ve found that a combination of the highest quality essential oils, supportive supplements, probiotics, and a clean diet is the safest and most effective way to support my wellness.
